haha...thanks. I had no idea that this chatboard existed! I'm a simple comment and message person.
That sounds cool. I had to ask because I had never heard of it and i figured to have a whole conference it must be a big deal. One of my good friends is an irish dancer...but that's probably a little different
So what kind of music do you dance to? "humble hibilly" bluegrass?. Or I guess I should ask what the traditional music is ;-)
Hi!
You aked about clogdancing: Clogging is a folk dance (by definition, having no written history) similar to tap and Irish step dancing. It has been surging in popularity in recent years, though it is at least as old as the Industrial Revolution. Today cloggers dance to country, rap, and pop as well as the traditional music. To most folks it looks like "Riverdance" and has roots in Irish and native American dance. It is for the most part a PERCUSSIVE dance form which gave birth to Tap. I like to say it this way: When clogging "went Hollywood," they called it Tapdance. This name, I believe, was created to put some distance between showtime/Hollywood percussive dance and it's humble Hillbilly roots.
Proud of my humble hillbilly roots and glad to be your new friend,
Robin
